What a great discussion so many things to think about. I like the digital art, very appropriate.
Check this tech out, imagine a very small 4 bladed quad copter, carrying a small highly focused Explosive (shaped charge) and autonomous software that can hunt and recognize a human then quickly attaching itself to the head and release its charge. Now imagine thousands of them being released at once.
I would caution calling any remote control craft “drones” that only adds to the hysteria, it inflates the imagination, promotes cognitive dissidence, and it creates plausible deniability. Even when they are autonomous they were programmed by someone. AI will be the most powerful “Illusion” humanity will ever experience and most likely the last.
I read an article the other day “Scientists manipulate pigment in our skin to enable the next generation of bio-implants” (making a person more conductive to the implants). Maybe just maybe that draws a connection between the stuff they are spraying in the skies, the Ultra high speed communications network and Transhumanism.
Doug you and David understand but to those out there, I caution, do not let the consortium take control of you imagination. When they tell you that you have to be an “Expert” to “Understand” do not believe them – become a “Generalists” see the big picture research for your self. The more you research a broad verity of topics and options the more finely tuned and reliable your discernment will become.

Thank you Cal! I agree wholeheartedly with the idea of keeping one’s imagination. To me, the imagination is under direct attack. I also agree with maintaining a generalist approach. It opens up a world of understanding. As always, thanks you for your time and support! I always appreciate the feedback.

I often fall into this trap of believing what one party or another is saying about some of these topics. However, the people who are trying to sound the alarm and call attention to the dangers of these technologies are often marginalized and seen as Luddites or just plain crazy. I am so glad we have forums like this.
Thank you David, I am so glad you commented. I have been a huge SyFy fan for as long as I can remember and a Star Trek fan from the very first episode. Also, the sciences were and still are one of my greatest pleasures but as I got older some things didn’t add up but like a good slave I excepted that most scientist were correct. Scientist like Newton, Einstein, Bohr, Hawking even Michio Kaku and Neil deGrasse Tyson after all, they are the “Experts”. Then I started looking at the world thru a new lens I became even more interested in Star Trek. Thanks to Netflix I was able see all of them again, some more than once. I watched them all, from the original to Deep Space Nine and Enterprise. I still enjoy SyFy but now I see them differently. I could go on and on but I will leave you with this: Newton replaced God with gravity, Einstein removed the standards of length and time they became rubbery, Bohr removed cause and effect, Tyson should spend the rest of his time building his theorized laser rotated time, time machine, Kaku needs to cut his marionette strings and Hawking was a marionette for the last few year of his life.
Oh, if you haven’t seen the last two part episode of Voyager the holographic doctor’s character comes to its ultimate conclusion, for me it was reviling and disturbing. Don’t forget the Borg.
David, if you release any of your books I would be very interested in reading them because when you care allot for your characters and you get it sorted out the books will be very good.
Great presentation guys! I had a 3 hour car journey to work this morning and this made 2 hours of it very worthwhile! Some extremely pragmatic arguments and theories put forward without the tinfoil mindset… nothing less from you Doug my friend and your great guest!
